How do I find an inmate's sentence in NC? ›

To find an inmate housed in the Wake County jail, use Wake County inmate search online. The inmate roster displays inmates currently incarcerated at the Wake County jail facility. To search quickly, click on the button 'Filter Inmate List', enter an inmate's last name and submit.

To ensure your mail gets delivered, you must include the full facility name and state where the facility is located (Wake County Detention NC), as well as the inmate's unique identifier. Please also note that the sender's full name and physical address must be clearly written on the top left corner of the envelope.

Information about criminal cases in the North Carolina court system can be accessed by visiting a public, self-service terminal located at a clerk of court's office in any county. You can use the terminal to search for cases by defendant name, case number, or victim or witness name.

Inmates serving a sentence are generally released between 6:00 AM and 9:00 PM on the day of discharge unless the court makes other instructions. Some inmates required to be released to adult probation; drug treatment and other programs must be picked up by a representative from that program.

Alternatively, requestors may use the 'Locate Inmate' tool available on the CDCR website. The search tool allows users to query the database by two required filters, CDCR number or Last name. A search by the last name typically yields a list of all inmates with that name.

You can search for arrests through the Department of Public Safety (DPS), which provides arrest information and inmate details. Once you pull up an arrest record, you can access the arrestee's name, address, age, and the date and time of the arrest.

Inmates do not have access to the internet or traditional email providers. Instead, they send messages to the website www.Corrlinks.com. When an inmate's authorized contact wants to return the message, they log into the site to email a prisoner.
